Blekko : Unleash The Unexplored Potential Of Web Search

Search engines are considered to be the best source of information on the World Wide Web and different search engines are equipped with different characterizing features for making their search results better and more relevant. There are a number of search engines functioning in today’s date such as Google, Yahoo and Bing etc. Apart from these names, a new search engine blekko is ready to enter into the web space with the existing list of search engines.

The unique selling point of the search engine blekko is its use of “slash tags” which are a tool to filter the results the user wants to receive.

If, for instance, a visitor wants to know where to buy a cake, he/she may type “chocolate cake/shop/restaurant” but if he/she wants to see a list of articles about the topic with most recent ones at the top he/she may type “chocolate cake/blog/date”. The search results are then grouped into categories – such as shopping, recipes and cake decoration – to help users focus on the kind of results they want.

The new search engine is equipped with three main features:

1. The introduction of multiple search categories to help the users to navigate to high quality results more efficiently and with fewer queries.

2. Support of a responsive design that adjusts to tablet and desktop screen sizes.

3. Introduction of a new appealing and navigational approach for making the search for users fun-oriented and engaging.

The search results being generated by the new search engine blekko are organized into visually labeled and multi-colored categories that make it easier to quickly find the type of information being sought.
